dc.description.abstract The Kandyan Convention was a consensus between the two groups of mugwumps, but it sets the stage for the full transformation of the old traditions. Especially during the last few decades, it has completely changed the political, social, economic and cultural process of the society. This change has since been felt by the people of Sri Lanka in a very hard manner, and the foundation has been created to create various kinds of stress among Sri Lankans. In particular, the traditional economic pattern of the feudal political system that had existed in the past has completely broken down. Instead of conventional subsistence measures, the people had to turn into new methods. Non-productive products and socioeconomic procedures were introduced to the Sri Lankan society. The aim of this review is to look at the impact of the Kandyan Convention on the local economy. en_US
