dc.description.abstract The visit of Mahinda Thera in the 3rd Century BC Sri Lanka can be recognized as a historical event that significantly contributed to the transformation of the culture of the country. This paper aims to study how the incident of Mahinda Thera’s visit contributed to the economic prosperity of the country. In the past, Sri Lanka had a strong relationship with the Indian sub-continent. Thus, the study critically investigated how Mahinda Thera's visit contributed to making a revolutionary change in the country particularly with the acceptance of Buddhist philosophy by the king and people. The study primarily used the historical-comparative method and critical theory approach as a methodological approach to achieve study objectives. en_US
