dc.description.abstract In this book, the author discusses the constructive learning strategies in Th eravada Buddhist Psychology in comparison to constructive learning theory in western Educational psychology. constructivism is a meta theoretical perspective that embraces diverse traditions from the fields of medicine, philosophy, PsYchology' and spiritual wisdom. Therefore, the writer has focused only on the discussion on constructivism in western educational psychology with modern constructive psychotherapy from the perspectives of constructivism in Buddhist PsYchology. The first chapter discusses the origin and development of both western and Buddhist psychology while the second chapter includes comparison of Buddhist and western psychology. constructivism in western psychology is discussed in the third chapter' ..Teachirrg strategies that can be practiced by a teacher to be successful in constructivist teaching" is the topic of the fourth chapter and "An answer to criticism against learner centered education" is presented in the fifth chapter. The sixth chapter elaborates constructive learning and punishment administered in western psychology. Constructivism and psychotherapy is the seventh chapter while constructivism in Buddhist psychology is discussed in the eighth chapter' Constructivist nature in Buddhist meditation is presented irt the ninth chapter of this book. The tenth chapter hasbeen allocated to discuss constructive learning and punishment in Buddhist education. Constructive psychotherapy in Buddhist psychology is discussed as the eleventh chapter while comparison and evaluation of constructive teaching in Buddhist and western psychology are presented as the twelfth chapter.
