Abstract:
The modern educational environment is gradually fusing cutting-edge
pedagogy with time-honored concepts in order to improve student outcomes
and adjust to changing social demands. The Buddha believed that learning
entailed an unending pursuit for knowledge. He constantly emphasized to his
disciples that they should never stop seeking, never be satisfying out new
information, and never settle for the teachings of their master. The Kesī Sutta
of Aṅguttara Nikāya, a significant discourse from the Pāli Canon, provides
valuable insights into the nature of true knowledge and the characteristics of a
wise person. By analyzing the teachings of the Kesī Sutta, this research
examines how traditional Buddhist principles can shape and modernize
contemporary educational methodologies. The Kesī Sutta emphasizes the
significance of genuine understanding and the transcendence of superficial
knowledge. This study examines how these ancient principles can be applied
to current educational practices, including innovative teaching methods and
conventional ideas. It analyzes the potential for integrating traditional
Buddhist wisdom with modern pedagogical strategies to enhance educational
effectiveness and address contemporary challenges. The integration of digital
technology within the context of the teachings of the Kesī Sutta, the
development of critical thinking skills, and the application of experiential
learning are important areas of concentration. The research reveals that
incorporating these principles can lead to more engaging and holistic
educational experiences, bridging the gap between traditional and modern
approaches. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the application of the
Kesī Sutta’s insights to contemporary education can enrich teaching practices,
foster deeper understanding, and create a more dynamic learning environment.
By harmonizing traditional wisdom with innovative techniques, educators can
enhance both the relevance and impact of modern education.
